This guide is based on real experience with Amazon's account verification process and provides a detailed roadmap for sellers facing a Section 3 notice.
Understanding Section 3 Notices
Amazon currently issues two distinct types of Section 3 notices:
Type 1: Advance Warning
- Provides notice of future account deactivation (typically two weeks)
- Requires scheduling a supply chain verification video interview
- May or may not specify ASINs/brands under review
- Your ability to continue selling and receive disbursements during this period may or may not be restricted
- Currently showing higher success rate for appeals
Type 2: Immediate Action
- Immediate account deactivation
- Includes specific list of ASINs/brands under review
- More challenging appeal process
